Pakistani celebrities are sharing their two cents on a rather eventful day in the history of Pakistan politics.

The day started off with deputy speaker national assembly rejecting the Vote of No Confidence against Prime Minister Imran Khan followed by a bombshell speech by the PM himself, sharing his plans of dissolving the national assembly and conducting early elections.

With a series of ‘surprises’ that later came, Pakistani celebrities were quick to react to the ongoing political conundrum in the country.

Feroze Khan was amongst the first to react to the news. 

Taking to his Instagram, the Khuda Aur Muhabbat actor wrote, “ Imran Khan is one heck of politician love how everyone turned their back on him and then he had the triumph. Allah alone is enough as a protector and help.”

Saba Qamar joined the bandwagon to show her support, captioning her post: “Prime Minister Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi!”

Joining her was Faysal Quraishi, an avid social media user, who is often vocal about social stigmas in society.

Taking to his Twitter, the Bashar Momin actor tweeted, “Pakistan Zindabad Pakistanis Zindabad WeStandWithPMIK.”

Actor Shaan Shahid also extended his support in a tweet, writing: “And they thought you were a cricketer you are the best political mind of today @ImranKhanPTI what an….in wing 3 wickets with 1 ball.”

Sana Javed and Zara Noor Abbas also turned to the photo-sharing app to root for the premier.

The Punjab government initiates the ‘Dhee Rani’ initiative for underprivileged couples.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has initiated the ‘Dhee Rani’ program to facilitate the wedding ceremonies of disadvantaged couples and alleviate their financial burden.

Applications for this project are being welcomed and may be filed via the internet portal cmp.punjab.gov.pk or the hotline 1312.

A helpline number has been established at the instruction of the Punjab Chief Minister to address any inquiries.

Teams would conduct home visits for candidates to check eligibility, ensuring transparency and fairness in the program.

The newlywed couple would receive Rs100,000 via ATM cards, along with needed furniture, tableware, and clothing.

The government will also provide meals for the couples’ wedding ceremony.

THE AMENDMENT WOULD GUARANTEE PROMPT JUSTICE

The Chief Minister of Punjab praised the 26th amendment to the constitution and commended the nation, asserting that it would guarantee prompt justice.

She asserted that the amendment was essential for the supremacy of law and had reinstated the Parliament’s full constitutional authority and integrity.

Maryam Nawaz asserted that constructive reforms would be implemented in the judicial system, resulting in a more independent and fortified judiciary.

She also praised the Article regarding the elimination of interest in Pakistan.
