In the Khayaban-e-Bukhari neighborhood of Karachi, owned by the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), a 16-year-old domestic servant named Faria was discovered dead in a home on Sunday. To conduct an autopsy, the body was sent to Jinnah Hospital.
According to the police, the cause of the domestic worker’s death was not determined by the first postmortem report, and the heirs had already received the body.
The house owner is a dentist who was outside with his family at the time of the occurrence, the police authorities said during the media conference outside the hospital, expressing suspicion over the reported suicide tragedy.
The girl had been employed in the same home for the previous year, according to the authorities.
The home owner claimed that once he came home from his lunch break, he found that the girl had hanged herself from the ceiling fan.
But the police spokeswoman insisted that the evidence retrieved from the scene and the preliminary inquiry refuted the house owner’s allegation that the youngster committed suicide.
