Speaking to the media in Lahore, the minister emphasized the importance of March 8 and added that it was made even more memorable by the fact that Maryam Nawaz had become Punjab’s first female chief minister. She conveyed her excitement for Maryam’s upcoming statements on the actions that would be taken to improve the status and well-being of women in Punjab.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s launch of a safety app for women, which aims to improve security and address worries about women’s safety, was one of the major measures that Bukhari cited.

In response to cultural perceptions of gender roles, Bukhari underlined the need of teaching males about the essential role that women play in homes. She argued that males should not discriminate against women and promoted gender equality and mutual respect.

“I will not warn, but I will gently explain to men that women are an integral part of the household,” she said, emphasizing the need for respect for women.

In addition, Azma Bukhari emphasized her long-standing support of women’s rights by expressing her support for events like the women’s march. She restated the opposition’s role in protest, stressing the need for them to carry out their constitutional obligations and calling for positive participation in the democratic process.
