CM Maryam requested a comprehensive strategy to carry out the housing project “Apna Ghar, Apni Chhat” efficiently during the meeting. Former senator Pervaiz Rasheed, MPA Azma Bukhari, the chief secretary, the senior member of the Board of Revenue, the chairman of planning and development, the secretaries of housing and finance, the commissioner of Lahore, and other officials attended the meeting.

Speaking to the assembly, Maryam Nawaz emphasized the need of giving people in need a place to live and directed the officials to move quickly to begin building more than 3,000 homes in each of Punjab’s districts. She emphasized that in order to start the project on time, the model houses needed to be ready in six weeks.

In order to ensure affordability for those with modest incomes, the CM further instructed to minimize the down payment and monthly installments. She reaffirmed her commitment to keeping her manifesto promise to give low-income homeless people ready homes.

“Providing shelter to the poor is our manifesto, and we will fulfil the promise,” she stated.

The program is in line with the government’s objectives of promoting socioeconomic development and reducing poverty and demonstrates its commitment to meeting the housing needs of marginalized populations.

In the meanwhile, fifteen ministers are scheduled to take the oath of office at the Governor House as part of the first phase of the creation of the Punjab cabinet, which is anticipated to happen in the next one to two days.

The cabinet will be smaller during this first phase, with a concentration on important portfolios. Marriyum Aurangzeb is slated to take over the planning and development and forestry ministries, and Azma Bukhari is expected to be appointed as the province communications minister. These are among the predicted cabinet appointments.

Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman will be in charge of the excise department, Bilal Yasin may be named minister for food, and Khawaja Imran Nazir may be the minister for basic health.

In Maryam Nawaz’s initial cabinet lineup, Khalid Jajja is earmarked for the Ministry of Agriculture, while Faisal Ayub is anticipated to assume the responsibilities of the Ministry of Housing and Sports. Additionally, Salman Naeem and Rana Iskandar Hayat are also expected to join the 15-member cabinet.
