PM Shehbaz calls the cabinet to discuss his six-point plan.

The federal cabinet will convene today, Thursday, at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, to go over a six-point agenda.

The resignation of SME Bank President Tahir Hussain and the selection of a new president will be discussed during the meeting, which is set to start at 11 am in the Prime Minister’s House.

The Economic Policy Statement will be approved by the government before being submitted to the National Assembly.

Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi, the former head of the navy, will be granted permission to accept a foreign award during the conference. It will accept the establishment of a panel to investigate Shehbaz Shabbir’s mistreatment while in police custody as well as the nomination of National panel for Women members.

It has been said by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that the attack on Chinese nationals, coupled with the demonstration in the Federal Capital, is a replicate of the events that occurred in 2014-2015, when the visit of the Chinese President was delayed owing to the sit-in that was organized by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

He stated, when addressing the meeting of the Federal Cabinet, that we would not accept a replay of the events that occurred in 2014 and 2015 and that we will leave no stone unturned in order to ensure the safety and security of Chinese engineers.
