On arriving in Pakistan, the Saudi assistant minister of defense was greeted with warmth.
A meeting between Otaibi and Army Chief Gen. Syed Asim Munir is also planned during the visit. During the conference, defense-related topics will be discussed, including Pakistan-Saudi defense cooperation.
A high-level group from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia arrived in Pakistan a few days prior to the Saudi minister’s visit in order to investigate investment prospects in the country.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, met with COAS and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as well.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, received Shehbaz’s heartfelt gratitude for the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Pakistan has long-standing economic, strategic, and familial ties with Saudi Arabia, which the Prime Minister emphasized. He asserted that both nations have consistently been united.
The Prime Minister recalled a cordial and fruitful meeting he had earlier this month in Makkah with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He also said that the Saudi delegation headed by the Foreign Minister’s visit, which came right after his visit, was evidence of both nations’ strong commitment to enhancing their bilateral relations with a focus on mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
According to the Prime Minister, in order to expedite the first phase of Saudi investments in Pakistan under the new structure, all parties must collaborate closely in this respect.
To encourage investment in Pakistan, the Prime Minister briefed the group on the activities of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). The important role that General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff, plays and the collaboration of all institutions in promoting investment in the nation through SIFC were also emphasized by him.
