Minorities find special mention in PM’s maiden address, video

In his first address to the nation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called on his political rivals to help him build a country that protects the rights of women and minorities, amongst other things.

“I want to tell my entire country, especially my political rivals, that come, let’s build a Pakistan that protects the rights of minorities and women,” the prime minister said in his maiden address to the nation, after coming to power on April 11.

A video montage of the national anthem, played before the commencement of the speech, also included images of a mosque, gurdwara, Hindu temple and church in Pakistan, one after the other.

The prime minister’s newly appointed head of strategic reforms tweeted that the national anthem video was “specially prepared to send a message of unity, tolerance and progress”.

In the 20-minute address, the prime minister announced a relief package for the poor segments of the society as his government has hiked up the price of fuel to win support from the International Monetary Fund and stabilize the economy.

The deceased terrorists were found in possession of weapons, ammo, and explosives.

The ISPR has stated that a sanitization operation is currently underway in order to eradicate any remaining terrorists in the vicinity.

The security forces are resolute in their efforts to eradicate the threat of terrorism from the country.

The Lahore High Court Chief Justice has referred Fawad’s request for an extension of protective bail to a division bench.

The Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the appeal for an extension of protective bail for former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry to be forwarded to a division bench.

Fawad and his wife Hiba Fawad presented themselves in front of Chief Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan.

The individual stated that the LHC had granted him protected bail in 36 cases and urged the court to order an extension of his bail.

The chief judge forwarded his request to the division bench led by judge Alia Neelam.

Prime Minister Shehbaz pays a visit to Karachi and places a floral wreath at Mazar-e-Quaid.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Karachi for a one-day visit today.

The prime minister was greeted at the airport by Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Shortly after his arrival, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid a visit to Mazar-e-Quaid, where he offered Fateha and placed a floral wreath. He recorded his perceptions in the book.

During his visit, the prime minister will convene discussions with the governor and the chief minister of Sindh to examine the comprehensive political situation and administrative matters of the province.

In addition, the prime minister will also engage with influential figures from the business community and a delegation from the Karachi Chamber of Commerce.

During these discussions, the Prime Minister will solicit recommendations from the business community regarding the enhancement of the nation’s economy.
