Talha Mahmood announced his departure from the JUI-F and decision to join the PPP, along with other PPP officials, at a news conference in Islamabad.

Senator Talha reiterated his choice to join the PPP in the middle of the country’s terrible crisis, noting that it is everyone’s responsibility to help to fixing the nation’s difficulties.

He emphasized that during his 18-year political career, he did not accept pay, advantages, or privileges while serving the nation.

Talha Mahmood stated that he was invited to join the PPP after a lengthy conversation with Pakistan’s President, Asif Ali Zardari.

He stated that his old party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), focuses on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, but makes no significant contributions in Punjab or Sindh.

In response to a question, Mahmood stated that he made no mention of differences with JUI-F chairman Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman. However, he stated that there was no greater political floor than the PPP right now.

Talha Mahmood also accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf of stealing his mandate in the 2024 general elections.
