A no-show resulted in the cancellation of a former federal minister’s temporary bail in an arson case filed at the Shadman police station in Lahore.

Muhammad Naveed Iqbal, the ATC Judge, issued the directives.

Asad Umar, a former finance minister, announced his resignation from parliament and left Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on November 11, 2023.

“I have chosen to leave politics after more than ten years in public life,” Asad Umar, who joined the PTI in 2012, stated in his retirement statement.

“I disagree with the policy of confrontation with state institutions,” he declared. He said, “Such policies are not in the national interest and result in a serious collision with institutions.”

May 9 Riots
After the PTI founder was taken into custody on May 9 on the grounds of the Islamabad High Court, protests broke out all throughout Pakistan.

Due to the party workers’ agitation over their chairman’s detention, protests were staged in both major and distant cities. Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad summoned the armed forces to maintain peace and order.

PTI workers attacked Army facilities and the Corps Commander’s residence in Lahore during a protest.
