Google’s Android Auto app detects bad USB cables

Recent Android Auto update has added a diagnostic feature that allows users to check if their USB or port is functioning as expected, The Verge reported.

If the phone is not connecting to the car or another device, for example, the tool can identify whether the USB connection is the issue or not.

Images that former XDA Developers editor-in-chief Mishaal Rehman shared on Twitter show that the tool is called ‘USB Startup Diagnostics’.

A support page provides helpful recommendations regarding getting the right cable.

That is not an easy task, however. There is a wide range of USB cables available over the counter which makes it difficult to find a compatible one that supports Android Auto.

It cannot be assumed that the cable that comes with the phone will work with Android Auto. However, the tool does help in figuring out whether you need a different cable.

Due to Pakistan’s appalling performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, the right-handed hitter resigned as captain of the team in all formats of the game. The team lost five of its nine group-stage games, preventing them from making it to the semifinals.

Sources claim that Babar Azam has been contacted by representatives of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and a meeting with him is scheduled prior to his departure for Abbottabad, where he will join his teammates for a fitness camp at the military academy Kakul.

It is important to note that during a meeting with Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the prolific batter announced his resignation.

The governing body said that Shaheen Afridi will captain the squad in the Twenty20 internationals after he tendered his resignation.

The talented player, who was named the T20I team’s captain in November, has only served as skipper for one series—five games in New Zealand—during which Pakistan lost 4-1.

His series defeat by New Zealand was followed by a terrible PSL season for the Lahore Qalandars, who managed only one victory in ten games.

In Balochistan, Jamiat Ulama e Islam would receive two senatorial seats.

In the meantime, one Senate seat each will go to the National Party, the Awami Party of Pakistan (BAP), and the Awami National Party (ANP).

Usman Dar’s appeal to have his name removed off the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL) has been accepted by the court, allowing him to undertake Umrah.

Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza of the Lahore High Court (LHC) heard the appeal to remove Usman Dar’s name from the PNIL.

Usman Dar’s attorney said during the court that his client was unable to undertake Umrah with his family because his name was on the Federal Investigation Agency’s PNIL, which prevented him from leaving the country.

The attorney went on to say that Usman Dar had begged the Police and FIA to take his name off of PNIL, but that neither agency had responded and had pressed forward with the application.

Usman Dar’s attorney asked the court to order his name to be removed from PNIL and to instruct the FIA not to obstruct his family’s trip to Saudi Arabia.

The court then granted Usman Dar permission to go for Umrah by accepting his appeal and ordering his name to be removed from PNIL.

In the meantime, Usman Dar’s seven-day protection bail in the GHQ attack case has been accepted by LHC.
