Through Advocate Rizwan Abbasi, Asad Aziz, President of the Jinnah Super Traders Association, filed the motion, asking the court to halt the PTI-led protest headed by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the petition, the demonstration is giving the appearance that an attack on Islamabad is about to happen.

Aziz stressed that unapproved protests could be interpreted as a sign of lawlessness in the nation and that new laws pertaining to protests in Islamabad demand prior authorization. The petition demands that the PTI Chairman, the Chief Commissioner, the IG Islamabad, and the Secretary of the Interior take measures to stop the demonstration.

The Peshawar High Court received a petition opposing the PTI’s demonstration.

The Peshawar High Court has also received a petition to halt the scheduled November 24 rally by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad.

The petitioner accused the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) administration of neglecting its duties and said that the protest call was issued only for the party’s “nefarious purposes.” The petition further alleges that political objectives are being served by the abuse of government machinery.

The petitioner also emphasized how a number of government employees and officials were recently detained at a prior demonstration, implying that such acts compromise the government’s ability to carry out its mandate.
